Hello all, well I finaly got my Mic-6 tooling plate and started on the rebuild today. All I got done so far is mounting the 7"x 40"x1/2" carriage plate. This plate goes all the way across this time instead of having two seperate plates. I masked off the plate where the bearings are to be mounted and with an engeneers square marked out the center lines for drilling. First a pilot hole then a larger to clear the socket head cap screws then a counter sink so the screws were lower than the top of the plate. I used some clamps to mock -up the sides that will hold my existing Y&Z assembly. More to come. |

| Got some more done this week, had a friend from durham robotics mill some slotts for the Y stand-offs which set them into the side plates about 3/16 of an inch for more strength. End plates were drilled for the X lead screw. Motor stand-offs drilled as well.Still need to install lead screw bellows for the X and re-install anergy chain for motor wires, then rewire home switches.More pics soon. |

| Hello Joe,to get to the leadscrew for lubrication isn,t too hard , all i have to do is loosen off three button head cap screws that hold the bellows flange and slide the bellows back then lubricate. Slightly time consuming but it keeps any debris out.i usualy lubricate every other week, not sure if that is too much or not enough,i use motor oil on the ball screws, cheers. |
