    Zero_Limits CNC Router Build

    Hi Guys,

Finally after almost a Year of looking round the CNC Zone site and many hours planning I am almost ready to start building.

As offers came up I started collecting some parts. Currently, sitting under my bed I have:

    4x Gecko 203V
    1x G-Rex G100
    2x 1500mm Hiwin 15mm Liner Rail
    2x 800mm Hiwin 15mm Liner Rail
    2x 500mm Hiwin 15mm Liner Rail
    12x Hiwin 15mm Liner Blocks

I have finally almost finished the plans after 9 different versions. I thought while I add in the last few bits to the drawings I would post on here so I could get some feed back on the design before I start building. So please let me know what you think, what you would change, and anything else that might be useful.

The frame and part of the Y Axis is all made from box section steel and all the other parts will be machined from 20mm Aluminum Sheet. All steel parts will be welded and everything else will be bolted together with M6 cap screws apart from the Bearing Blocks as they require M4 Thread Cap screws.

For the major parts I don't have I was planning to get the following:

    Hiwin Precision Rolled Ballscrew 16mm x 5mm
    X Axis Stepper - 570 oz/in Stepper Motor Model # RS23-570 (Home Shop CNC)
    Y and Z Axis - 370 oz/in Stepper Motor Model # RS23-370 (Home Shop CNC)

I Havn't yet figured out where I am going to get a power supply from or what voltage to use etc. The stepper motors I have picked are just guesses biased on other machines I have seen as every time I look at the calculations you guys do to work out what I would actually need my head starts to hurt. As for bearings for the ballscrews I was looking at Angular contact bearings from VXB for the stepper end and standard bearings for the other.

Hopefully I have included all the information needed so that people can comment on my plans and design. Now for some Pics....
