I plan on making a cnc router that is about 4'x8' so that I can cut wood, and some plastics. what kind of stepper motors would I need for this? I have a sherline cnc mill but I haven't had to do any of the selecting of parts for it. I will also need some type of controler. I was also wondering why it is that there are no manual routers without the cnc operation. thanks Last edited by zachjowi; 09-27-2006 at 09:31 PM. |

Depends on how you plan on driving it (leadscrew?, rack and pinion?), how much it weighs, what type of bearings, how fast do you want to go? Not an easy question to answer.
