Can I get some good recemendations on 1 or more dependable DIY cnc kits or is there a manufacture out there that sells the whole kit IE that I can put together myself. Also can a cnc be changed over from a plasma cnc over to a router cnc and vice versa depending on what you want to cut? |

| this would be my recommendation. the build-log is one of the best on th whole board, so you'll learn a ton from just reading it. http://www.cnczone.com/forums/showthread.php?t=15139 plasma + router, sure i guess. you just have to be sure that your machine is designed to be fireproof from gound up, also, there are not as much "Z" axis forces on a plamsa table as there are on a router machine. there was one forsale around that i jsut saw n the gallery section. |

| I used a Xylotex kit which contained the stepper motors, controller and power supply. I recommend it if you don't mind building the mechanical stuff yourself. Not sure if this would power a 4 ft X 8 ft machine but is plenty for 2 ft X 2 ft. |
