That looks good Chuck. Is that a full torsion box under the 80/20 frame ?
Hi All,
I have been lurking on the forum for over 2 years and finally decided to build myself a home cnc router. I went with cncrouterparts crp2448 kit. This weekend I put the majority of it together and hopefully this week the rest of my parts will arrive so I can finish the build next weekend.
I built the machine purely for hobby, I hope to build a few electric guitars and I have some other projects I want to do. I'm sure I will have many questions.
Here is what I used and where I bought it from:
Machine Base: www.cncrouterparts.com crp2448
Router: www.Ugracnc.com 80mm 2.2kw water cooled spindle
Electronics: www.cncrouterparts Nema 23 3/8" shaft
Cooling System: www.Ugracnc.com
VFD Drive: www.precision-elec.com Lenze AC Tech ESV222N02YXB
Software:
BobCAD V24
Mach3
Comments questions or suggestions welcome!
Thanks,
Chuck

Great looking machine.

I'll get it finished sometime after I start it.....
Small update, today I connected the power supply to the motors and Gecko G540 drive and the E-stop. All worked like it is supposed to, now waiting for my VFD drive to arrive this week and get it configured. Then it will be getting Mach 3 configured and BobCAD.

I have made a lot of progress in last few weeks here are some update pics. I have to throw out a huge thanks for Ahren at CNCRP for his help and GREAT customer service. I have not had any problems so far but this being my first build I have had several question and he has been a great help.
Installed the cable track kit from cncrp
Instead of attaching the one end to the end of the Y gantry I attached it to the motor mount plate.
I added an additonal tray to hold the water cooled system. You can also see in the background I installed the VFD Drive, and connected the spindle.
I added 3 support brackets under the Y axis cable track tray and the coolant system tray.
I'm hoping to finish this weekend! Next up is installing the T-Track for the table clamping system, then make some touch plates, install the home switches, finish configuring Mach3, then start calibrating.

Still looking great
I can recommend the 2010 screen set for mach 3, it has nice functions for using touch plate for zeroing z axis etc, it was one of the best upgrades I installed on my machine. (I have no affiliation, just happy customer) .
Looking forward to seeing your first cut and videos, we all love watching them moving about under their own control.
Cheers Rob

Thanks Rob, I'll take a look at the 2010 screen set.
Just finished installing the T-tracks for clamping.
