Backlash probe for Mach 3 « Nino Ransenberg
very interesting, one might be able to modify the script to do the XY at the same time if a different fixture was used. A 4 sided fixture would work.
I tried the script, it tells me my BL on the X is .004 and the Y is .003
Becareful when running the script as it is set to an opening size of 8" and will cause your axis to crash into your fixture is you are using a fixture with a smaller opening.
If the machine is setup in inches, it'll move 8 inches.

you are correct Yotamkasam it does mention the opening size in the code. I must have missed the section that says it is based upon metric millimeters. I wonder what else must be changed to make it work for imperial based machines.
I added a variable SizeOfOpening to my code and set it to .75" which did the trick for that problem but now that Gerry mentioned the script is setup for mm I'm wondering.
What's going on here?..
Is this thing just measuring the change in the magnetic field when the router changes direction, and then comparing the time difference between the signal sent and the resulting change in movement?
