| I built a hot wire machine with a 13 foot wire and experimented with different size wires, I found that with the thicker wires I could run a lower voltage but it was never less than 60v, but with the thicker wire it was alot sloppier of a cut. The thinner wires work better with less curf but you have to run a higher voltage. You might want to go with the thinner wire and just use a dimmer switch or something simpler that would give you a higher voltage, it's cruder but works. |
