I have a 3-axis cnc router table using a Dewalt DW618 router. Up until now it's been easy to find end mills for the 1/4, 3/8, and 1/2 collets. However, I'm now looking at doing a larger project which calls for 5/8" and 1" ball end mills. Can anyone help point me to where I might be able to find 1/2 shank end mills with larger cutting heads. The material I'm using calls for the following: 1" Ball 4FL Roughing HSS-Co 5/8" Ball 2FL Carbide 1" Ball 2FL HSS-Co 5/8" Ball 4FL Carbide Thanks in advance. |

| What are you cutting? Will wood router bits work? You can get them in large sizes with 1/2" shanks. They usually call them core box bits.

| duhtrev, I know this is kinda late but did you get your tooling problem fixed? If not, I can point you to a place that can make exactly what you are looking for. They make special tooling like this for me to cut cylinder heads in both cast iron and aluminum. larry |

| Larry, I did manage to work through my problem and found bits close to what I needed from the links provide by other members, and they got the job done. However, I would be interested to know your resource for future projects. Thanks, Trevor |

| What I will do is look through my invoices and pm you their information and send you a print of the last piece they made for me for your reference. They will make almost anything you want but this will give you a good idea. The main thing for what you are wanting to do is the number of flutes and the reliefs. They made me a cutter for aluminum and a totally different one for cast iron. The cast iron cutter is absolutely amazing if you could see it. Larry |
