    Tooling for A572

I am programming a part made of A572 Grade 50 and am wondering what endmills are successful in that material. I havn't made anything out of this stuff before. I will be doing lots of roughing, so it would be best if the tooling could take ramping and helical terping. The part also has some large tight bores on it, and is 2.588" thick. Thanks for any input!

    Similar to A36 Plate steel

A572 Gd 50 is similar to A36, the brinell is a little higher. We run the same SFM as 1018, except we slow down to start a cut to get thru the scale.
If you are milling, use (800SFM for carbide), about 500-600 to get thru scale.
Turning use 600 to bore or turn, 600 to drill down to about 1.25 dia, 400 on smaller dia.

    Hope this helped
