i just acquired one of these small minitech2 mills. i haven't been able to power it it up just yet, and i'm not sure it will. It appears that there are a few broken wires on each stepper. Also they appear to be hardwired to their ( minitech) equipment. Does anyone here know if those motors come apart. i've contacted the manufacturer, and have not yet received any reply back. My guess is that , I'd be better off to add new steppers and eliminate this huge power supply and theire controler by adding a new steppers and a controler. everything here is wired internally, the steppers, the driver, etc. i'm not even sure the driver and power suply work. All in all the basics are there and in good condition. i'm looking for input and advice. maybe someone that can direcvt me somewhere where i can purchase these steppers at a reasonable price along with a 3 or 4 axis driver that's already setup with the power supply. i'm not out that much for what I have, but i'm still thinking i can stil make this a really sweet machine for not too much ore out of pocket. I'm new at this and open to any suggestions. One more thing are the mounts on these steppers what determine if they are nema 23 or so on. they are only 150oz 200 steps per evolution . mark |

hi i am not a huge expert at all of this yet, but i have built a router plasma table, i used xylotex, they sell complete kits steppers boards supply ect, for good prices i thought anyway, i have had really good luck with them. if you post some pics of your machine and the steppers ect , you could probably get better responses, then even if someone is not familiar with your machine we can still see the steppers and wiring ect. it would be big help i thinik, any other questions i will help you with what i know tim |

| I've got that exact mill. I picked it up at a school auction and I am looking at replacing the driver because mine is burned up on two of the axis. My problem is that I need a wiring diagram for the motors. Also of concern is the high draw of the motors at 4.7 amps. The best driver board I can find for this high current is from dtllcinc.com They have a 4 axis 10A board for $135. |

the problem with this one is that the wires connecting the motors are broken from it being mis handled. The mill looks as if it doesn't have much use on it at all. I just don't think i can reattach the wiring to the steppers. i'm thinking about scrapping the motors and the driver and power supply and just going with new and different then i'll know what i have. If there's anyhting here you might be able to use let me know. maybe we can help one another. Thanks for the info, I've gotten a few quotes from people , not bad at all, but i'll check out this site your referring me too. i am curious as to where you bought your machine. I haven't been able to power mine up yet, so I'm not sure what all works and what don't all I do know is the mechanics looks good and the router fires up. |

| I was pretty lucky with mine. Everything was connected and two of the axis moved but the third was toast. The driver was quite old. So old in fact that it used old style ballast resistors. I contacted the manufacturer for replacement parts but they wanted $2500 for Gecko drives and that is way too steep. All my motors move and the wiring to the motors is in good shape. I just need new drivers. I found mine at a school district auction in a small town about 30 minutes south of here. Other than yours, mine, and one I saw on eBay, I have never seen this machine anywhere. I believe manufacturers web site lists these machines at $7500. That seems a little steep for what you are getting especially in light of the machines that Syil is bring in. |
