Anyone heard of GS Tool holders? I've just heard of them, and they seem to be really cheap. ER16 CAT40 for around $95 CDN!!!!!!!!

| may be worth a try at that price , might be a good idea to get the specs and check the taper to make sure it is properly ground to size , we had a kennametal tool jam up into the spindle , it took hours to get it out , turns out they missed the finish op ,not what a guy should expect from a "quality " tool manufacturer |

| Don't have a clue about 50 tapers. Never asked. But I will when I see the tooling guys.

| http://www.sowatool.com/main.asp We run allot of GS tool holders, both 40's and 50's. I have no gripes about them. We also have quite a few GS vices. Prone to breaking out the slot at the back of the vice that keys the stationary jaw. That is when some knucklehead uses a mallet to tighten the vice. It's economy tooling that actually works economically. Mike |

| The GS tooling is balanced to 20,000 RPM most competition is balanced at 10,000. They are still about 20% more than the Bison tooling (which I use a lot of). Definately seem to be good tools and I wouldn't be afraid to buy them at all (I do use a fair bit of Sowa's other tooling).

| Thats interesting, I plan on getting a GS vise because of the jaw opening and the price. Than again I dont use a deadblow to tighten down a vise. |

| Any new-fangled "Kurt" or "Gerrardi" style vise will NEVER need a mallet for maximum hold. The old school vises that I used as an apprentice, on the other hand, needed plenty of beating.
