    Counterbore/drill combo

I took over the cnc responsiblities at my job and I need to find a tool. I have this tool that I use to make a .50" cbore, .125" deep, .203 thru hole. The material is .50" sheet of PPE. Unfortunately, I have no spares. I found 2 tools (broken) from different manufacturers. One tool is from Rock River Tools part# 251416 which is .50" cbore with .1875" pilot diameter. The pilot is custom drilled to fit a .203 drill bit. The other is the same tool but is made by Poland. I can not find this company on internet nor can I find where it was purchased. Does anyone have information on a company called Poland.

Poland is probably the country where it was made, not the company name. Alot of HSS tooling comes/came from Poland. Also can you use two tools as in with an automatic tool changer?

thanks for the info. However, 2 tools for that move would not work. The increase in time to complete one part would be to great. I have to cut 35,000+ floors for a portable toilet and that would add at 240 hours to machine time.

One other thing about that tool from "Poland" it could be that the tool was purchased by a co. such as Rock River Tools and modifide by them for your app.

ISCAR has some nice tooling, all carbide inserts. depending what machine you are using and how many holes you are drilling this might be the way to go. Maybe you should give them a call.
On the other hand, You have different fingers.

    counterbore/drill combo

I would grind up a step drill (use a .500 dia stub length drill) to drill and
c'bore the hole in one operation. Any good tool and cutter shop should
be able to grind up this tool for your shop. We use step drills in a lot of our
    production CNC work.

Nice idea I will try that as long as cost does not get to high.
