Haas 4th axis indexer - removal (dumb question)

I just purchased a machine with a HAAS 4th already on it. And, I htink its been on it for a couple decades. I wonder if I am missing something or if the decades old dried oil is bonding it to the fixture plate.

Is there some hidden fasteners under the casting? Or are the two fasteners visible all that is mechanically holding it?

I really want to remove it until I am comfy with the new control, for obvious reasons. And actually I dont see myself making good use of a 4th in the forseeable future, if there is any interest in it.

    Thanks
    Scott

Ther are tapped holes on the bottom of the rotary housing. Can you get the fixture plate off to see if it is also bolted through these holes.
An open mind is a virtue...so long as all the common sense has not leaked out.

Ahhh...thanks Geof. I will take the fixture plate/4th off together and take a look underneath.

    Thanks
