Well we got a NEW tool in today and just wanted to pass along how it is working.
Cutting Hot Rolled A-36 Steel and Big Kaiser teck said from 300 to 800 sfm and around .0025 to .006 chip load dont have the paper work here right now but think that is what they said to try.
Working out Great at 1220 RPM with 20 ipm feed in A-36 and .190 deep .
After cutter gets a Full load on it very nice and almost no sound at all ya almost start to think your cutting T6 alum with this cutter.
Looking for some info getting some recutting of the chip with this tool running on a Mitsubishi MH4A horizontal mill with coolent and spindle coolent running at the same time. Chips should be washing away very nice but we still get a chip now and then.
Would it not recut the chip if that small center was cut out and then go to Conventional Milling so chip wont get recut on side of part ?
Other than that recut problem Happy as can be with this tool so far will have to see how inserts hold up.
Was able to get some Cutting time over the weekend with the Big Kaiser Fullcut Mill FCM.
With our setup running from 1220 RPM to 1460 RPM .202 DOC and from 10 to 19 ipm tool is 1.250 dia with a 5 inch total length. We dont have the Big Flange Spindle taper.
Cutting Hot Rolled A-36 that is 2 inch thick and putting a 3.5 hole in half the side so when ya bolt them up you have a 3.5 hole .
Takes 10 passes and no finish pass we are also going in and cutting the center part out so that we dont have a Huge Steel slug in the center.
Still working on the Air Blast Deal so running coolent at the moment.
Sorry for the Low light in the video.
Need to upload some more video of tool in action working on that.
