Arrow Niagara Cutter and Fullerton. Are these Quality Tool Makers?

There is a Local Machine Tool Supply company, and I like the idea of buying my tooling locally, and the close proximity of buying tooling in a hurry.

This company stocks alot of tools, but recommended two catalogs from the mentioned companies.

    Niagara Cutter

    and

    Fullerton

Do these companies make quality tools?

I am interested in purchasing some stuff from them, was curious if anyone has experience with either companies products.

    Thanks in advance.

    Talking Fullerton & Niagara

I believe the first answer is yes.

We have some niagara slot mill cutters but they are older tools.

We have used and still buy tools from Fullerton.

They have about the very best 3-flute solid carbide drills for Aluminum and they are self centering.

We also use their 2 & 3-flute Ski-Carb End mills in Aluminum which work very well.

    Thumbs up Niagara tools

Niagara make some good quality cutters, so you should not have a problem.

Both companys make great tools. I love the variable helix mills from fullerton for steels and the roughers and finishers from niagara for aluminum. For steel and aluminum you really cant go wrong with tools from either company as long as you follow there recommendations for starting feeds and speeds.

I have a job running right now where I mill some deep, long slots and I use Niagara six flute solid carbide center cutting. They are great!

    Good Luck!

    fullerton and niagara

I spent the past 6 years selling cutting tools in the midwest. Niagara and Fullerton are great companies. The only possibly negative thing i can say about Fullerton is that in the event you want a coated tool, more often than not, they have to take the uncoated and send it out to be coated then send it to you. Not ideal for folks buying tools that they need yesterday but then again a lot of the cutting tool manufacturers handle the issue of coated tools the same way. easy solution: plan ahead. For spinal implants on mills and swiss lathe machining (citizen style machines) i had a customer that relied heavily on SGS for carbide round tools and Kennametal for turn tools. Of course there primary material being cut was medical grade Ti. Melin is a great alternative to Fullerton, they are both at similar price points and both on a decent substrate.
