Hello, Anyone know of a good short single point burnishing tool? Most are over 2.5" long past the tool holder which may be prohibitive for setup with our Tsugami BS12. Part is 3/8 OD and we need to burnish a .75" section for interface with a T25 Turcon seal (http://www.trelleborg.com). Shooting for a 50% Rmr(c) finish (bearing surface finish calc'd as percentage of surface located at 10% below peaks). Also, for this type of work, is the single point spring loaded burnishing tool our best bet or should we be using a rotary tool (even bigger unfortunately)? The only tool that looked promising is a round bar rotary tool that we could put into a conventional boring bar holder perhaps as a second op for these parts....but I would MUCH prefer to do all of the work on the screw machine. Thanks for your time. Jason |
