Non CNC but still Swiss question

    Hi,

I want to make a small part with cross holes. Does anybody know if the old cam driven swisses could do such a thing? I just want to make thousands of little spindles with cross holes in them, max. dia. of .150 Inch.

If anybody has a simple small working swiss, CNC or not that can do this, maybe sell it to me and get one with more bells and whistles you may need.

    Thanks in advance!

I used to run a Hardinge manual that was retrofitted to CNC that had live tooling attached in the form of air motors. So, yes, somewhere out there is a small machine that will do what you want.

Thanks again for the clue Mike. I spoke with Paul and shared the print of what we need made. He doesn't recommend cam, go for CNC but I'm afraid we don't have the budget for that...60-100k...payback would be a bit long.
