Hello, I'm running a chip blaster unit on a DMG Sprint 20, and I'm grtting too much coolant going thru the spindle, I contacted S&M Hardinge and Keb about sealed TF25 collets but no luck, I have tried sealing the collets myself but the end up sticking at unclamp, has anyone had this problem? any solutions? |

In the past I have sealed collets by making a fixture that matches the collet sleeve and cap.I then tighten the collet onto a gage pin, fill the slots with silicone and let set overnight.Usually any oil resistant rtv type will work. good luck |

ET.SC.ENG., Have you resolved this issue yet? We have 2 DMG/SPRINT 20 machines and are experiencing the same issues. I have started using " SCHAUBLIN " collets and so far they are proving out to be very successful. What have you done differently since you posted this? -Jimmy |
