Citizen E32 Bar Feeder

Can someone tell me how to program for the end of the bar signal on and Citizen E32?

Maybe you could provide more detail...
What type of Bar Feed?
Are you starting from scratch?
Do you have a specific issue now?

The Bar Feeder is a Cincom CMBF Series. I was told that the program should stop when the end of bar switch is made. The machine does not stop and continues to feed. If I go into the diagnostics screen, the bit is changing that shows the end of bar switch is being made. I am wondering if I need to and something to my programs to stop the cycle at the end of a bar.

Is this a Magazine Loader or a Single bar feeder?

If it's a single bar feeder, then I'm not sure.
if it's a loader you'll have to do something like this...

Code:
(CUT-OFF.HERE)

M8(SHORT-CUT-ON-TURNS-ON-BLOCK-SKIP-FUNCTION-IF-N0-END-OF-BAR)
M8(JUST-TO-BE-SURE)
/M98P????(CALL-BAR-CHANGE-PROGRAM-ONLY-IF-END-OF-BAR)
(YOU-NEED-TO-AUTHOUR-YOUR-OWN-BAR-CHANGE-PROGRAM)
M9(SHORT-CUT-OFF)
M9(JUST-TO-BE-SAFE)

(OPEN-COLLET-RETURN-T0-START-POINT-HERE)

I think that there are some paramaters associated with Magazine or Single Bar feeder types.
The paramaters need to be set appropriately too.
And, as always, I would recommend making contact with your local distributor as they should be able to help.
Let us know how you make out.
Good luck!

Thanks for the Info. At least now I have an idea of what to look for. Also, it is a single bar feeder. I will see if I can find anyone that is in the know at Citizen.

Thanks

No problem.

I believe that with a single bar feeder, with the correct paramaters settings the machine will issue an alarm at the end of the cycle.

What is your location?
Did you purchase it used (I would assume)?

Well now I need to find what and where the paramaters are.

You assume correctly, we purchased the machine a few months ago...I have been learning how to program the thing and have made it to the feeder part of the process. We are in Iowa not to far from Des Moines.

After the feeder, I am going to try and get the RS232 cable up and going so I can download programs....at this point I am hand entering them.

Citizen NJ is 201-818-0100 they should be able to help, though I do not know their position on phone service for used equipment.
But with anything, I sure if you're nice to them, they'll be nice to you

Good Luck getting your new toy into full production!

That's funny! We bought our E32 a few months ago too! DO call Citizen. I have had very good technical help from them. There have been a couple of things they could not answer with 100% assurance that it would work, but all of the big stuff was right on the money.

It's hard to think back 15 to 20 years and remember how that thing-a-ma-jig worked sometimes!

Anyway, good luck.

Mike
