There are many things at work here.

First, we do not know the base material and that is a big factor, that aside...

Is the root radius of the tool properly sized, it may be too large?
If you are using a "Full Form" insert, try a small root radius non-forming insert.
in your G76 code vary the infeed angle, try a full 30° per side infeed.
Is the tool on center?
Is the thread very long?

This should get you started, let us know how you make out.

Not so much, though the 800RPM seems slow.
How did the code suggested earlier work out i.e. even if it did not work, what happended?

the code kept giving me improper g71-76 alarms
i kind of blended our programs together with taking more depth of cut and i also split the length in to heres my program now. but now the back wont go in the gage the front is going fine its just a tool pressure issue i believe

If you are able to you may have more success with thread rolling - i've done M1.6 many times in material like surgical steel and titanium for body jewellery - dies last for ages and rolled thread quality is far superior

For thread rolls we normally use Habegger in Switzerland - not sure if they have a US agent

http://www.habegger-sa.com/English/produits_en.htm

Turn to effective thread size of 1.373 with a 15-20 deg lead and use sprung collet and G32 feed on at 95% pitch, then reverse spindle and G32 out at 100% pitch

Some controls can only support a few lead in angles. (the last 2 numbers in the P word in the first G76). I bet that's what the improper G76 alarm was about. My citizen will only take 0, 29, 30, 55, 60 and 80, for example.

try using P010055 , this should not alarm out.

Also, I agree that the s800 is much too slow. Looking at a program where i single point a 6-32 thread in 304, i run at S2800.

Also, if you can go any faster on your turn, do that as well. 304 loves to work harden and if you don't take enough off fast enough, it turns impossibly hard real quick.
I also just realized that your OD is .060". >_<

try this, everyone else is doing it!! =P

FOr the g76 you will want to start at the same z and cut air for the first half of your thread, otherwise you will get a line where the 2 threads meet.

let us know how it goes!

Edit:
Also, I agree 1000% with the suggestion of a thread roll. We have 2 of the Habegger units and they have paid for themselves over an over again. just be careful, it's no fun getting a stuck stud out of the rolls... I know from experience. >_> <_<

We got outs from alouette Tool co: www.alouettetool.com or 585.388.12440

sound to me like youre doing more forming than cutting during threading and its pushing the material outwards
