So ever since I got my table going I Have been blowing through tips really fast on my Hypertherm 1000. I only get about 2 pierces and about 10 inches of cut before they get so bad it wont cut anymore. I am running a motor gaurd m-300 water seperator and a m-60 filter before the plasma cutter. The filters are about 50 feet from the compressor. I bought the plasma cutter used from a guy that had it on a plasmacam. He siad he buys new 1000's every 4-5 years because they start to eat consumables. I did not see any kind of water seperator or filters on his system. When I took the torch apart to change tips it was very contaminated from dirty and oily air. I tried my best to clean all the crud from the torch. It helped some but I am afraid that the hole wip is gone bad. Could the hole wip be so contaminated that it needs to be replaced? |

| i had the same problem with a 1000 they told me to check with a meter from the tip with the shield removed to ground with the 1000 turned off sould be open mine was not had to replace a rectifier inside the box under the board i think it was 80.00 dollars from hypertherm it was a kit from them call and talk to them they helped me out no problem i could not believe the difference in the cuts we were also using the 80 amp tips instead of the 60 he said that would not help they only have a larger hole in them and will cut off to the side and it seemed he was right on that also i also thought it was the air i am still thinking about hooking it up to a bottle of nitrogen just to see how it cuts |
