Smile

We have had one of our plasmas running since wednesday.
I am very pleased with the results.

I have just got to find the best way in getting rid of dross/slag....Would a barrell with stones suffice?

Soon we will be making around 800 flanges a day so might need a decent size barrelling machine!?

We managed to get around 2500 pierces before had to change consumables which i thought was quite good...These were with genuine hypertherm consumables.

I had some thermacut consumable samples(non genuine hypertherm) delevered and tried these, but unfortunately they only managed around 20 pierces! Shame really as their prices are really keen.

The Hypertherm HD3070's can cut the materials you are cutting ...virtually dross free. I would suggest having someone that is familiar with those systems (Esprit Automation would be a good choice as they have been working with Hypertherm products for many years) check them out. The HD3070 is a first generation HyDefinition plasma...and if one of them has the torch upgrade....which puts Hypertherm's newest HPR torch on these systems....you should have cut quality that is very close to laser capability.....and consumable parts should last approximately a full shift.

Do you have the Hypertherm operators manual? If not it can be downloaded from the Hypertherm website......follow the settings for gas pressures, flows, arc voltage, current, consumable part numbers, pierce height and cut speed exactly as outlined in the manual....and you will get excellent quality. I would suggest using the 70 Amp 0xygen cutting process on the materials you are cutting. Use genuine Hypertherm consumables....the aftermarket parts use a 1 piece conventional nozzle design, while the Hypertherm is a 2 piece vented nozzle.....which gives high energy density combined with long life.

Thanks for the advice Jim.

We do have the upgraded hypertherm torch (HPR130.)Which we was using last week.
The outline of the flanges are fine....Its the bolt holes that seem to be worse affected with dross.

We have got a hypertherm manual, and i think we have done all the settings by the book....Will double check monday morning.

A rep from plascom is coming round next week,so will see if he can improve things....

Forgot to ask Jim....How many pierces/how long is a full shift?
"and consumable parts should last approximately a full shift".

Thanks

CR electronic plasma software

Hello,
I think your customer use a version of program called Plasma II ver plot 2.40;
this is a dos based program that runs even under Windows 98.
The output file of this program to drive plasma plotter machines are binary files, not like normal text files.
I can offer to you various solutions for your customer, even interfacing the CR electronic plasma machine with the current Cad-cam system the customer is using.
Please, feel free to contact me at fabrizioit@gmail.com
I'll show you the best solution in details.

Kind regards,
Fabrizio.

Hello Marco,
the original program Winplasma (last versions called Wincam) for CR electronic machines use a protection key to give access.
The first release used an internal key, while the last versions swapped
to an external key.

If this key is not working you can't have access to the program.
I can investigate further if you give me more info about this, and may be
I can find the problem.

I created anyway some tools to help customers to change software
or use other ASCII files to drive CR electronic machines;
advise me to this email: fabrizioit@gmail.com

Waiting for your advise.

Kind regards,
Fabrizio.
