Cutting tungston?

can anyone here cut tungston i was told it would be a am edm but iw as wondering? thanks for your time.. ps the part is a 1.250 diameter shaft that needs a .590 hole in the center of it. thanks again

yep that kinda souds like an edm job, you already have the shaft or not? just kinda wonder how you would get a starting hole for the wire to go trough?

hey hey donthave the shaft yett looking to get some and get the part going actualy and its actualy a blind hole,........11.75 inches long hahah

If it's a blind hole, wouldn't that rule out the EDM option?
the wire for the EDM would have to go through the entire part.

Try MarkeTech. They will be able to supply you with the material. Its possible they might even be able to custom make the part you need.

thanks for the info yeah the blind hole is a problem but i have a electron lazer beam welde so i an just weld the back of the hole up if a hole for the edm is needed to produce the part.. im hopeing to machine it on my cnc lathe had a few people tell me it would do what i need so well see..the stocks 1,100 bucks i hope it goes well....thanks for the imput again
