Hi all! We currently have a 60k PSI Flow waterjet table with a 4' x 8' bed and are looking to expand. We cut alot of various types and thicknesses of materials (mild steel 12GA up to 2" regularly, thin stainless, aluminum up to 1/2", wood, stone, etc.). Now we are looking to get a second table and was wondering if anyone out that is using the new 87K PSI flow machine has anything to say? Is it that much better, or should I wait until the technological bugs have been worked out? We have also got a guy from Calypso saying his table is far superior (dual head Calypso table VS. Flow Hyperpressure). Anyone got something good or bad to say about Calypso? |

| calypso uses a KMT intensifier dont they? I have never had the pleasure of seeing a flow work. I saw the hyperpressure intensifier about a year ago at a show in edmonton. it wasnt in operation then though. There were calypso, multicam, laser-spec.net machines with kmt- intesifiers working away. Ive heard that flow is just a name that people have seen on tv shows, and therefore is the best. I would not go with a flow, paying for a name has never been my thing. |

We have a Calypso HammerHead 5' X 10' with a 30 HP intensifier pump. It runs about 8-12 hours a daycutting mainly 1/2" and below stainless. The machine and software are pretty good, although the front panel covering the tank has rusted pretty bad and had to be removed after about 2 years. I don't know much about Flow so I can't compare. The service at Calypso is average to below average. These people know their stuff, but seem to be understaffed. Our orfice is only .010" which makes cutting speeds slow. We have been talking to Omax and they can go .012 or .014 orfice which would improve cutting speeds by 30% to 40%. We are also considering another table and to answer your question, Calypso would only be considered because of price. |
