I am very close to buying a Cutmaster 81, but I am a little bit confused with all the different options available. I am converting my 3 axis CNC Router to use the plasma, and I will be using the Campbell designs THC with Mach3 and sheetcam. There are two main options for the cutmaster 81, Manual and automation. I have heard that if I buy the more expensive Automation version with the CNC Interface that I can't use one of the outputs, and I will still need to use the supplied CT (Current Transformer)??? I also need to be able to use my plasma manually to cut the supplied 2000mm x 1000mm sheets down in size to fit my Plasma table, but the machine torch does not have a trigger switch? I have heard that there is a 'hand pendant' is this just a remote trigger?? Is this supplied with the machine torch, or is it an extra. All the dealers I have been to, only get the machines in on special order and they are useless when I have asked them anything slightly technical ![]() Thanks Andy Last edited by Normsthename; 12-03-2007 at 05:01 PM. |

| Cutmaster 81 offered in 3 versions: 1) manual hand system 75 degree torch and lead. This system will operate with a mechanized machine torch 2) mechanized system 180 degree torch and lead, interface allows for start/stop only. optional methods of start/stop a) remote pendant (hand switch) b) CNC cable. This system will operate with a hand torch , but the air flows all the time. 3) Automated system. 180 degree torch and lead with gas solenoid mounted near the torch head. Improved arc starting reliability. interface pcb for access to start/stop , okay to move and arc voltage signals. This system cannot be used with a hand torch Thanks Gene |

| I use a Cutmaster 81 with the 75 Degree torch and head. The reason I chose this one is so I could use it in a stand alone application also. Should here be a malfunction in your table, you can always complete cuts or touch up a cut with a hand system. This is much harder in my opininion to do with a mechanized head. It really depends on if you plan to use the plasma cutter on other things besides your table. Andrew |
