| Some people will run unattended jobs with open tolerances as cheaply as $25.00/hr, and intricate small diameter wire work can be upwards of $100.00/hr. What matters as a buyer or seller of EDM services is the piece price. There's no point in comparing hourly rates when one company is using a machine that cuts at 5 Square inches/hr, and the next guys machine is cutting 45 Sqaure inches per hour. What are you actually trying to figure out? Cheers! |

| Al, If this helps any, back in 1989 we charged $35/hr. machine time and $35/hr. for programming plastic extrusion dies on a 4 axis Mitsubishi wire EDM. Programming while the machine was cutting = $70/hr. Not bad 18 yrs. ago.
