What are people making with there cnc plasma tables?

What is everyone making with their plasma tables? Is there a good chance that if i buy one that i could sell my services to fabrication shops etc. Is anyone doing this already? Have you paid for your machine buy making stuff. How do you charge customers. etc. Is there potential to make good money, if so how much.

Cheers

Apples

Hi Apples,

I don't have one but a plasma table is an accessory for an overhead hoist and a tractor trailer unit By that I mean, you need a facility to handle large, heavy loads easily and quickly. Same goes for lasar cutting machinery, I would imagine. Your throughput is largely dependant on how well you can handle the parts, because the cutting time is almost insignificant. That is just my opinion, I may be out to lunch.

I make upper A-arm brackets, seat mounts, steering brackets and misc items for hooters pro cup cars, and also for my company that builds a wheelchair tiedown with latches. The latches and brackets for the tiedown are very precise and plasma has done great with little clean-up re: slag.

Decorative Steel. We make money but it took a while to get established. Just because you have a table don't expect job's to just fall out of the sky. You will make more with your table cutting parts for your own products that you will as a sub-contractor or job shop.

CNC Plasma can make a lot of parts. I provide cutting service for my customer and also selling machine.
I cut Aluminium HVAC ducting for ship, brcaket for auto, exhaust flange & bracket, Thin stainless steel words for advertising firm, Supporting bracket for fencing, metal art for furniture.
My customers cut aluminium panel for Dome for oil storage, Metal art Grill and gate, loading arm for port and also a lot of machine parts and bracket which not require tight tolerence.

The difficult parts of running a cutting service bussiness is marketing. You need to spend a lot of time to let people know what you can do and what you cannot. A lot people don't know what actually a CNC plasma can help them, for example, Panel maker, There are still a lot people cutting manually whitout using automated machinery at my area.
