New to this. I cant get my Hyperterm 600/cnc machine to cut clean on 16g Stainless that Im practicing on. Ive got the athc set properly (i think) Have cut between 25 to 45 with air psi from 45 - 100! Just cant get it to cut clean...is it supposed too? Can you use an end mill to cut stainless cleanly? Thanks for your help |

| I am very new using a plasma cutter, but unless you are using thick stock, you won't generally need much air. At least not 100 psi. I would think the cut being clean is more a case of the right amperage and distance from the plate. That along with the right cutting speed. Too much air on thin material will probably result in a poor cut simply because its cooling rather than just pushing the flow out. All that said, I have never plasma cut any stainless, but I have tried end mills on it. It can be done, but that in itself takes just as much if not more of the right stuff to do well. Cost can really add up doing practicing on first class material. Its some tough stuff.
