This may be a dumb question, but at least it is a simple one. I think I remember reading somewhere in the past that the higher the amperage on the plasma torch (larger capacity, not just a higher setting) the more narrow the taper is. That is to say if you use a 100AMP torch you should expect less taper than if you used a 40AMP Torch for the same cut (both set to MFG reccomended settings for the same thickness material). Is this true? I would figure that it would be the same regardless of your machines capacity, if the cuts are in the same materials and within the cut thickness capacity of both machines. A little clarification from someone with more experience than I would be great. Thanks Doug |
