I have an Omax Water Jet---I am looking for a good commom line cutting/nesting program. There are plenty of nesting programs but I have not found any good common line cutting programs without taking a second mortgage. Any suggestions

| As far as memory serves me, only remember two.. sigmanest, which I _think_ wasn't too bad, and something _like_ optomizer.. low cost I believe it's been some time now, but I think they were only nesting utilities, with options like kerf width, copies, sort order, direction squeeze, etc.. not a whole bunch of help, can't remeber any others offhand |

| Hello. I recommend MTC (http://www.mtc-software.com/) They have some excellent features that I wont go into... but their common line cutting is very good and it does save time. For plasma it's probably not the greatest option to have but for waterjet you will be VERY happy with it. The standard package with common line cutting is about $8-9k and it can shoot up to over $20k with a few more bells and whistles. It's not cheap but it will save you a lot of time in cutting and it's also great for setting up programs. I can't be bothererd explaining it all... but think of it like this... what can take you 10 hours to do in FastCAM will take you about half an hour in MTC. Anyway, see if you can get someone out to demo it, it's worth seeing. |
