water table and support steel weight?

For those of you who have water tables that fill right up to, or over
the material being cut.. How did you design your table so it supports
the steel thats being cut weight (800-900 lbs)/the slats and the water/
the tray its stored in. I would like to build a tray for the water out of
galvinized steel but how do I provide enough support to the slates
on a 5x10ft table. They should have some sort of mid way support.
I was thinking about using the free plasma plans posted in an earlier
thread as the base frame, but I cant imagine how to add a water
tray to it.

The drawing attached should allow you to have support slats that let your work piece touch, or be submerged in water.

The water table, & supports for the slats, both rest on top of the table top tubes. A centre support for the slats is suspended from the ends of the table in a similar manner.

The plans you refer to are likely those from MLaws1172 and would require that the slat supports at each side & the centre not be welded to the table.

The 16 gauge slats called for in those plans would seem too light for the weight you require.
