Does anyone have any experience with these tips? I'm trying to choose between getting a Powermax 1250 and a Cutmaster 101. I cut alot of thin gauge Aluminum and want the best cut I can get. |

| Since you cut at about 25 to 30A with Fine Cuts, any machine that take them (Hypertherm1000 and up) will give comparable results. A bigger plasma machine does not give better, tighter cuts in thin stock at a given amp setting. The width of the kerf is a function of the tip oriface and the tip gap (distance of tip above the material). Fine cut consummables address both of those since the oriface is small and the recommended cut gap is less than the standard 40A and 60A tips. Now, if you need to make good cuts in 1/2" plate with all the current you can muster to get straighter sides, then a 1650 will be justified. |
