I have a customer request to cut some decorative stuff on copper sheet - probably 14ga or lighter. I have only cut carbon steel before. Can I cut copper? Same settings and gas?

| Yes, you can cut anything electrically conductive. You will have to toy with the speed and amperage a little, as cutting copper is different than cutting steel. Good luck, because any mistake will cost you a LOT of money. Copper aint cheap right now...

| I have a PlasmaCam with a Thermal Dynamics A80. I purchased a 3x4 sheet of copper it is thinner than the 14 gauge Mild Steel I prefer to cut. I am going to try to cut some decorations out tomorrow. I am going to use aluminium settings first. I will let you know how it goes... Steve SASF |
