Laser head pricing?

Can anyone give me a ballpark price for a laser cutting head such as those from Hypertherm? I need something that will easily cut through 1/4" mild steel. The higher the power the better, but I'm guessing that the price goes up exponentially.

No, I'm just about ready to buy a Hypertherm Powermax 1000. I wanted to see what a laser head would cost in comparison. I'm guessing over $10k. I didn't post in the laser forum becase I'm not interested in the low wattage engravers.

Zumbz, I could be wrong, but I believe a laser that powerful can't be contained in a head. It has to be part of the whole machine. The laser light is taken to the cutting point by mirrors.

A laser that can cut 1/4 steel will cost a min of (~$60K used) and will need to be in the 2,500 watt range. Will be the size of 2 cars+

I believe Zumba is referring to the Hypertherm FAST Laser Line
