plasma table drive

does anyone have any ideas or coments? i am build a 5x10 plasma table everything is done except the drives, should i drive this from one or both sides, i am using 20 pitch gear rack. my gantry glides very smooth with my new disign, on finger it can travel the whole table. what about pinion mesh should i spring loas this or have it adjustable but fixed.
