what gear reduction are you using?

ok, a few questions before the plasma table is done. it is a 4x6 with approx 250oz/in stepper motors. what gear reduction do i need to get the desired speed? and also, what rack to use, it is the same question that everyone is asking, but no one is giving real world examples of their setups. i need specs, what gear reduction, what step rate, what racks(spacifics). I just am too busy, tired, and old to figure this stuff out by myself any more. anyone, please!!!

Step motors develop full power in the 900 RPM to 1200 RPM range. Gear the motor for that range when your mechanism is moving at its maximum design speed.

im a first timer, I dont know how to gear the motor for that range, thats part of the problem. and what is a good maximum designed speed, I just made the table and electronics, how am i supposed to know a good range is. Is there some sort of equation for determining a good gear reduction,and the other stuff?
