Ok, I've searched but must be using the wrong terminology because I'm not finding a clear answer. What are the pros/cons of having dual motors on your Y axis compared to a singles motor with a rack / pinion tying the sides together? |

| Simplest answer from my perspective--more torque/acceleration available with 2 motors, and no driveshaft to deal with. (I assume that's what you're asking...I have rack and pinion on both motors naturally) Also, my gear racks are pointing down, so no crap collects on them. With a single motor and driveshaft, I can't think of a clean/easy way to NOT have the gear racks facing up.

| Also, if any racking-or moving out of square occurs on the axis, dual motors will let you individually home the motors to true-up the axis.
