Waterjet cutting question

New to waterjet. Trying to cut 1.25 mild steel. Started off fine, now it seems like it does not want to cut. Is it possible to get the mixing tube plugged and it still pass water?

Hard to tell why is not cutting,no sand in the bulktank, your orifice is damage,your mixing tube is plugged.

Well check your pressure, and if you have intensifier pump, count how many shifts per minute. The number of shifts tell what output flow level is. This helps to determine
if the orifice is clogged. If orifice not clogged, but nozzle is, then very likely the water
will shoot to the abrasive inlet. Also check the abraisive valve if there is one. Many
reasons could be. Just provide more observation.

Abrasive is on, about 52 shifts per minute.

I took orifice out and it looks like it is getting worn?

How long have you been working with this orifice? It looks quite
unsual.

Orfice is from a flow phaser 3. Machine was purchased from an auction, about 10 yrs old.

so you don't know how long this orifice has been used ?? Ruby orifice is usually good for
30-40 hours. And most of time it is the ruby gets broken and causing the jet defocused, and hence not able to cut.
