Coreldraw - can't delete a path for my plasma file

Hi All,

Using Coreldraw and I'm trying to figure out how to draw a number of shapes along a path then I want to be able to convert those shapes to a dxf file for my plasma cutter. Sounds simple enough and I have managed it apart from one problem.

I found out about the interactive blend tool (or blend tool). I draw a wavy line (the path) for example and have a row of circles running on that path. My problem is how can I get rid of the path itself, and leave just the circles. I can turn off the outline on the path and the path dissapears off the screen but that doesn't actually remove the path itself, it still comes out in the dxf file.
There's also a command to remove the objects from the path but doing so just ends up with all the circles in a straight line.

Anybody know of any alternative technique to accomplish drawing objects along a path and then get rid of the path. Even copying the objects without copying the path but I can't seem to do this.

Thanks,

Keith.

Buy me a Beer?

Go to Arrange and select Break Blend Group Apart. Then you should be able to select your original curve and delete it.

I must be doing something wrong. You are the second person who has told me to do this but all I have on my "arrange" menu is "break apart" (ctrl-K), not "break blend apart" and it's greyed out.

I got it working. I don't know what the problem was before but after seeing your post I went and tried again and there were the wonderful words "break blend apart" this time.

Exported as a dxf file to my cam program and got the cut paths.

Thanks very much,

Keith

I've noticed with Draw it depends on what you have selected. Sometimes you just have to experiment to get the right thing selected. Glad you got it worked out.
