Riggen industries

New here and have been looking a purchasing a cnc plasma in the near future and came across riggen industries. Does anyone have any experience with them or could you tell me what you think their drawbacks are. Thanks

Buy me a Beer?

Plasma cutting is already out-of-date. More operators now choose waterjet cutting. Suitable for all kinds of material. Thus, if your business is not just metal cutting, you may not necessary to buy more machines.

Now that is one of the more ridiculous statements I have heard in a long time....would you care to qualify your thoughts, livemont?

Jim, you just have to take your pick of any one of livemott's posts to see the narrow minded unjustified opinions he/she has.
Not one is of any help towards someone who is asking. All that can be found is unbacked claims about waterjet machines.

I know....I'm just up for a good debate today! Worldwide water jet sales are up about 7% worldwide, cnc plasma sale up 48%! People must be buying the outdated stuff!

HA ha, nah surely you're mistaken. People aren't continuing to buy plasma machines, they're SO yesterday! I mean even hi-def machines are almost obsolete because of their near freehand cut accuracy

I can't find where to plug in that 50 HP water jet pump motor in my home shop. And the bags of garnet...where can I store those?

Water jets are nice.... they certainly have their niche for cutting with no heat affected zone....just as plasma has its speed/productivity/low cost niche and laser has its thin material accuracy/speed niche. None will replace the other processes in the foreseeable future.

To those who are knocking plasma cutting and especially to 4R8 who reckons even high definition is close to hand cutting. You must have one hell of a steady hand. You'd make a complete fool of yourself if yourself is you tried to demonstrate your claim.
The zone probably has people ranging from someone who has next to no cash but a strong ambition to get into steel shape cutting with cnc, and right up to stable businesses with enough cash to buy what they want.
A few extra brain cells being engaged could cause you to elaborate a bit and explain when even a basic air plasma setup will do fine, and when nothing but a high end laser or waterjet will do. Why do so many massive companies use oxy fuel systems ?????? instead of waterjet or laser or even plasma.
I know nothing about laser or waterjet but I do know that cost is certainly a factor. Seems like power supply will be too if you don't have 3 phase.
Before you go knocking something and giving no useful input, try thinking when a plasma (even basic air) will do the job and when it won't and explain your reasons. You're not helping anybody by making general statements which equate to "plasma is crap".
People on the zone are here to learn and to help after they have learnt, and I resent your biased and narrow minded statements about plasma. Even basic plasma has its place even if that place is dictated by cost and/or workshop facilities. There's a lot of people here starting at the beginning with next to no knowledge of any of the processes yet may one day end up with high end machines. Don't put them off, try fulling explaining the pros and cons of what you are knocking and what you are promoting.
I started with a few hand tools and no machines or knowledge, not even any shelves in my workshop. I've now got a mini engineering shop with lathe, mill, cnc plasma, etc. It's been hard work and a lot of study and asking questions and getting HELPFUL and INFORMATIVE answers from members of the zone.
Help everyone and adjust your input a bit or don't contribute at all.

Beefy before flappin your mouth about my posts, have another read. If you cannot see the sarcasm in in the hand cutting comparison, then you my friend have issues. I was merely yet again, having a dig at livemott's single sided unbacked claims.

Next time before singling one person out try reading and understanding the entire thread, this one for example was only 7 posts long and would have taken 2 mins to read. Reading it would have saved you 10 mins of attempting to argue with someone who has the same opinion.

So, help everyone and read before you write or don't contribute at all.

Glad to see so many people still enjoy plasma, but does anyone know anything about riggen industries or their machines? They are out round rock Texas.

Ok, ok 4R8

please accept my apologies, I take back my words to you. I'd had a bad night and I wasn't my sharpest. I actually realised afterwards that it was you who had knocked the other guy (mr waterjet) and I did say oops to myself. I didn't realise at the time you were being sarcastic.

I hold to my comments for "Mr Waterjet" but as for you I truly screwed up and once again I hope you accept my apologies. I am feeling like an arse if that makes you feel any better.

Keith.
