Best timing belt material

I need to replace some long 1/2" wide L series belting that drives the long axis on my plasma table. I'm finding it in Urethane with steel cords which I have now, Urethane with Kevlar cords or Neoprene with fiberglass cords.

I'm mainly concerned with it not stretching. Does anybody have the low down on which would be best for this application? I need it fast and can get the Kevlar locally on Monday but don't want to sacrifice performance.

Thanks for any input.

I have experienced bad things with the kevlar corded timing belts. Stretching and eventually breaking. I would go back to the steel cord.
This is just one machine's experience with kevlar, others may find it good.

I used nylon covered, fiberglass reinforced neoprene belts on my table and haven't had any problem with them at all. I expected the X axis belts to stretch quite a bit but I've only adjusted them once in 3 months and it was very minor. My belts are 3/4" with a .375 pitch. Got them from Econobelt for a really good price.

Buy me a Beer?

Check out Breco belts, they make for this application.
