Concerns about stepper motors for Plasma CNC | |
Hello All.
My friend is building a CNC plasma table. I've given him some Nema23/60oz steppers to at least get the demesions set for mounts etc.
My questions are,
How fast does a typical Plasma cutter have to run? IPM's
And what are the concerns with the typical stepper motor acceleration curve?
There seems to be a pause with change of direction. Is this(the cutter control) something that can easily be gotten around?
Would this problem be taken care of with controls, and a THC?
