| WOW - you are considering building your own torch head? Even if you had factory drawings I seriously doubt you could accomplish making your own. Of course you might just be a cracker jack machinist with a warehouse of tooling in which case I could be wrong. I agree w/ Jim -- Ebay |

| Plasma torches have to deal with high voltages, as well as high temperature physics, in the range of 25,000 degrees F. They are relatively easy to build, as long as you know what materials to use, and you have a good design. Most plasma system manufacturers probably won't share a lot of that information. I know Hypertherm has over 85 engineers that develop their systems and processes, and over 15 of them have pHd's.......those guys don't come cheap! If you want to build your own system, be careful, and get a preengineered torch from a cheap source, used, or a chinese knock off on Ebay. It may not work like a new Hypertherm plasma, but it might work! Jim |

| Maybe I am wrong but I suspect he wants to build a Z and torch HOLDER (maybe a floating torch holder?) I can't imagine anyone wanting to build the actual Plasma torch itself. If it's the holder then let me know and I can give you sources to pictures and a couple of sources to buy one ready made. TOM caudle www.CandCNC.com |

| Here is what the poster wrote: Where I can find a good priced new plasma torch head for my 4 x 4ft table or a drawing so I can build one please. If he just needs an external torch drawing for mounting dimensions....I can provide that, however he would need to be more specific about power level, hand or machine torch, etc. I just sounds like he would like to build a torch to me! | I drew up a basic torch holder but not a full z axis. It's on ffe Fabricators File Exchange - AutoCad/Plasma/Fabrication/4x4/Plasma/Welding/ATV/Racing/Tooling > Home Precision plasma or bt might sell you just a z axis etc. |
