| Hello everyone, I am a professionnal bassoonist. I am interrested in making my reeds with a computer assisted machine. I dont know a lot about thoses but I have all the tim to learn about it. I found thoses photos of a guy that is using cnc machines to cut reeds and I would like if someone could tell me what exactly is this setup? Maybe its not possible. It is for .profiling cane to the extremely precise shape you see generated in 3d. http://www.proreeds.de/en/gallery/index.html Is is a milling machine? What are the specifications? Thank you! |

| Q: How many bassoonists does it take to screw in a light bulb? A: Only one, but they'll insist on going through about 5 bulbs before they find one that suits this particular room and situation. Sorry , couldn't resist ![]() That picture looks like a comercial desktop cnc router with a fourth axis rotary fixture. $$$ Vincent where are you located, I might be able to help you run some trials on my machine, before you commit yourself to a machine of your own. regards Gary

| Hi Vincent, Take a look at http://www.computersculpture.com/Pag...roduction.html for an overview of these types of machines. My machine is much more capable but it won't fit on anyones desk :-) Unfortunately I'm located in Ajax ( just east of Toronto ) so by the time you buy gas for the round trip ... you could probably make a good downpayment on a machine of your own. regards Gary
