Cam software

Hey I like people to write about the different cam software they use and what they think is the best for the different machines they use I think it would help lots of people trying to find out what software to buy. When i was trying to buy a software for my muticam I tested 4 differnt cam software till i tryed one I like. And if anyone has a question about mastercam, bobcad 21v or 2007, artcam, or toolpath just ask and I will try to help.

I work mostly with mastercam it has lots of toolpath 4 differnt nesting programs one of them being a atp nesting and tool pathing many c hooks and many options a 3d dawing software plus a easy to drawing program the only bad thing I can say is it cost $5000 for a low level seat and $ 400 a year for up dates
I use toolpath of may axzy its very easy to lean but no nesting and not a lot of option not a very good checking
I bin looking at bobcad 2007 and its very close to mastercam I mite buy that if the nesting is good but not out yet

Try Rhino, RhinoCam Pro and RhinoNest.


I have MC 9, BCC v21, Sheetcam, and Rhino package, I choose Rhino...

How that nesting can it nest this part easy or not My mastercam software haves a hard time with this part

I'm thinking of getting a plasma cutter or a laser or a water jet is the cam software made for these machines with fetchers made for the machines. theres lots of cam that dose routers and it will do these machine i want some thing that is designed of these machines

I have a plasma, router, and a mill. Working on a lathe..

I bought sheetcam for the plasma, I was told it had a post processer I could not get.. BS.. BS.. Rhino will do it..

It has no trouble nesting, or any features..

I have about 10 plug-ins for it and can do anything from photorealistic rendering, animation, nesting, plasma paths, mill paths, router paths, almost instant 2d blue print drawing, digitize (laser, or probe), and lots more.

No it is not made just for cutting 2d at all.. It is WAY more than you will ever need just for 2d, but you mentioned mc and I thought you needed something more.

I chose the hard way... But each has it's own little aera of good. I just love the rhino.
