The battery went dead and the machine lost the bios setup info so that the PC could not find the hard drive. I had Stiles recover my hard drive and mirror it onto a brand new drive. They said everything was recovered so I put it all back together and had the same problem. Guess the battery was weak. I reset the setup in the bios and when the DOS part booted it showed a floppy drive, a fixed drive, a parallel port and 0 serial ports. I can't find anything in the bios setup to turn on a serial port, only something to set baud rate, etc. I'm frustrated at this point because it takes a long time for them to return phone calls. Any Win 3.11 gurus out there. This machine is 12 years old and runs Win 3.11.  |
