Hi everybody, We are planning to make a MDT Centre in our Area. For that purpose, we have chosen large CNC machines from Haas Automation Inc. Now the problem is the deisgning of the workshop for the CNC machines of this type. As these machines are having work envelop of around 3.5 meters and part weight is like 3.0 tons. So we have to install an over-head crane for the parts lift and assembly. As we know that the ambient temperature for the CNCs are normally from 15-35 degree celcius so we need to install airconditioners as well and for dust proofing we have to isolate every machine. Because going for air-conditioning for the whole hall which is round 30,000 sq feet costs alot so. Could you pls suggest any workshop methodology for this scenario where machines can be isolated and there can be hassle free lifiting of moulds and dies after manufacturing. What are other important factors to look at?? Does anybody have a wworkshop layout of CNC machines in .CAD ot PDF which could best suit the system we are intending to organize??? |

| dont know what your plant looks like, but i would suggest putting the machines in line with the crane,as far as airconditioning, either build a room around the machines up to the ceiling, with a door in line with the crane thats all the way up,seen that done, all the machines can be in one room,no need to serperate them indiviaully, other solution is plastic curtains, cheap, but look like crap, only ideas i have |

| I cannot suggest a layout but if you are still designing the building I suggest you consider either having a false floor or large ducts in the floor. This allows all the services such as electricity, compressed air, central coolant delivery, to be distributed out of the way under the floor. You mention isolating the machines for dust control and having under-floor space for ducts carrying filtered air to the machine spaces and taking dusty and hot air away could be a distinct advantage. It also means hoist access to the machines is not obstructed.

can anybody help me in suggesting a productive layout for the machineries attached with the earlier post?? yeah dedinitely we'll be having false floor for the machines but wht would be the most efficient layout in yer opinion .. and it would be wonderful if someone send me some snaps of a model cnc machine shop..??? |
