Gerber Sabre serial card broken?

Hi,
Anyone experienced problem w PC- to Gerber Sabre communication?
My Gerber Sabre does not communicate with the PC. It is connected through the serial COM port. Tried with different PC:s. So the problem must be in the machine.
Got the advice from a tech, to clean and reinstall the controller card and the connections that receives the signal from the PC, and to check the cable for damages.
But to no avail. The tech thougt it most likely is the card that is the problem. But when he told me the price, and the fact that it's no refund if it isnt the card, I thougt Ill ask around if anyone have had the same problem.

Yes.
Bought a new card to no avail. If anyone needs a communication card for 408 so give me a PM.
I also had a new cable made (from the COM-port to the machine).
Since I had got a new computer, i tried to switchback to the old one and voila, the machine worked.
The new computer did not have any COM-port so I used a USB-COM converter cable. I guess that this may have been a part of the problem.

I need to try the new computer with a COM card instead to see if that works.

The best way you solve this problem is to ask the company which you buy this machine,I am a stuff in my manufacturer,and I know only ourselves know our machine best.
