C62 quit responding....
Hello all,
I hope one of you guys can assist me. Went to fire up the machine today and... no response at all from the C62. The ESS is responding and verified through its data monitor. All the voltages check out on the C62, including the 5vdc out. The only C62 LED I get is the power. Any thoughts on this?
Thanks guys,
Chris

Re: C62 quit responding....
Chris,
Tell me more:
- Do you get the power LED?
- Standby LED?
- Does it activate (Enable LED)?
- Do you see action on inputs in the Data Monitoring Utility?

Re: C62 quit responding....
Thanks for the speedy post Arturo. Here's what I've got:
Power LED - Yes
Standby LED - Nope
Enable LED - Nope
As far as the inputs, I've got the ESTOP strapped out. Although, when I remove the jumper I get nothing.
Let me know if that's what you were after.
Thanks,
Chris

Chris,
Can you test other inputs? Maybe limits?
What happens if you disable the Safety Charge Pump? DIP2=off.

Re: C62 quit responding....
Arturo,
I will test some inputs later today and let you know the results. As for the charge pump, I wasn't running one before so it has always been turned off. The photo I attached in my first post is with the board powered up. The led's are very difficult to see in the photo, sorry.
Thanks Arturo,
Chris

Re: C62 quit responding....
Good morning Arturo,
Well, I have no good news. I tested multiple inputs as well as all the available outputs I had left, and unfortunately got no response on any. The inputs are not getting back to the ESS data monitor and the outputs are being reported on the ESS monitor but not making to the C62. Bummer, what do you think?
Thanks Arturo,

Re: C62 quit responding....
Arturo,
I decided to pull the ESS and C62 to bench test it with a different 12vdc power supply. I took some voltage readings at most of the chips and they are seeing 4.97vdc. Upon inspection with a magnifying glass, I found something of a concern...
Looking closely at the Atmel MCU, there appears to be substantial corrosion between many of the pins...
Let me know what you think.
Thanks,
Chris

Chris,
This does not look good. Please open a ticket in our website and we will replace the board:

Re: C62 quit responding....
Just wanted to post a follow-up message to all reading this thread. Arturo is in the process of shipping me a replacement C62 board. I just want to say that all of my dealings with CNC4PC have been nothing but pleasurable. I understand that weird things happen (especially in electronics!) but Arturo is taking care of it.
Thanks Arturo!
Chris
