    Default C11 help

I have a C11 and I cant get the computer "mach3" to talk to it.

not sure what to look for.

Am I missing something to make them connect(software or drivers). I'm not sure if I have the DB25 card configured right. OR if I have the right DB25 cable.

The axis lights wont light up. Maybe due to not connecting to mach3 no signal?

Please let me know if you need more info.

    Thank you
    Joseph

    Hi Joseph

the printer port will not work if your using 64 bit windows -
Mach 3 can only control the printer port when you have 32 bit windows ( XP to Vista I'm not sure about later versions )

double check the two power supplies connected to the C11 board -
5V for the PC side and 12V for the input / output side also check you have connected the +5V to the enable terminal

for initial tests set the charge pump jumper to 1 & 2 to swich off the charge pump
once the board is working set up Mach 3 to send the 10KHz signal to pin 17 and move the jumper to 2 & 3

I have not used a printer port adaptor
but I remember reading not all adaptor cards work with Mach 3 but have not found a definative list of the working cards or the chip set that works
we need a member thats using printer port adaptors to give more details

whats the printer port set up in windows device manager ?
ECP ? Hex address 378 ?? and in Mach 3 pins and ports is the hex address the same ??

    John

    PS

CNC4PC sell a printerport adaptor card using the MosChip 9865
